Brett has served as the Whitman County Sheriff since January of 2003 after being elected to the Office of Sheriff.  Working in many different capacities within the Sheriff’s Office, Brett has also held the rank of Sergeant, Deputy Sheriff and Reserve Deputy Sheriff dating back 15 years. 

Brett currently resides in Pullman with his wife Darcell, to whom he has been married for18 years. He is also the father of 2 daughters, who keep him busy when not at the office.  Brett takes pride in calling Whitman County his home because he grew up on the Palouse, attending all 12 years of his public schooling in Pullman, before continuing on with his education at Washington State University.  Brett has many hobbies and enjoys the outdoors and what this region has to offer.   Spending time with his family camping, fishing, boating or just hanging out at home is at the top of his list when he has some time away from the office.
